Reading Hospital, our nationally recognized flagship institution in West Reading, has served the local community since 1867. A Magnet® designated facility, Reading Hospital is home to many of our top-tier specialty care centers, including McGlinn Cancer Institute, Miller Regional Heart Center, the state’s busiest Emergency Department and a Level 1 Trauma Center, and Beginnings Maternity Center, which houses the region’s only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Surgeries for the newly added Tower Health Transplant Institute are performed at Reading Hospital HealthPlex, a facility that combines state-of-the-art technology and world-class design to create one of the most sophisticated surgical centers and inpatient facilities in the region. Reading Hospital has been listed as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals™ (2017-2019) by Healthgrades, is one of only 11 hospitals in PA to receive a Five-Star Quality Rating by CMS in 2019 and has been awarded four consecutive ‘A’ grades from Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade.
