WHO IS JTI?
We are a leading international tobacco company, making some of the world’s best-known brands.
We were formed in 1999 when our parent company JT Group acquired the non US operations of R.J. Reynolds. In 2007 we acquired UK based Gallaher, doubling our size and adding 11,000 new employees.
Today we’re even bigger, with a diverse employee base driving our success all over the world. Our mission is to nurture our internationally recognized brand roster while leading the way in Reduced-Risk Products and new ways of doing business.
We are committed to making our business not only the fastest growing of its kind, but also the most responsible and sustainably run.
LIFE AT JTI
More than just a job, we’ll help you develop across a wide range of disciplines.
What is Kaizen?
Kaizen is the philosophy of continuous improvement that underpins our entire company culture and helps us meet the future head on. The approach was developed by the Japanese business philosopher Masaaki Imai, and derives its name from the Japanese for ‘change’ (Kai) and ‘good’ (zen). Behind it is the idea that every employee, at every level, is encouraged to come up with small improvement suggestions on a regular, ongoing basis.
What does Kaizen mean for our business?
Kaizen recognises that the potential to build a better workplace lies within us all. We ensure that our people feel connected and know that their contribution is valued.
It also means employing the minimum resources for the maximum benefit, which helps us nurture a lean, sustainable business that will serve our interests and the environment in the years to come.
THE GOLD STANDARD: WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A GLOBAL TOP EMPLOYER?
We’re a young company operating on a global scale, which makes us all the more proud of the award-winning culture we’ve fostered across our global operations.
For the past four years we received the prestigious recognition of being a Global Top Employer, and in 2018 we secured the number one spot in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America, Number Two in Africa and Middle East.
